World Book Day 2024

Writer's picture: Ramya JulianRamya Julian

Actually, I should call this one 'Lectures, Laryngitis, and Lice', because that's exactly what happened. I visited six schools in five days during World Book Week, and sounded like I'd swallowed a drunken frog by the end of it, and then recuperated by weeding out the attack of the creepy-crawlies on my daughters' heads. What a week!
Nevertheless, it had been a lovely week. I cannot say it enough, kids are delightful and so uncanny, sometimes. And when they listen, they listen. We talked about STEM subjects, writing, publishing, diversity, the importance of Speaking Up, and how we're all different and yet, we're the same. Needless to say, it was fun!
